ABOUT RICK:
Rick Mitchell is a traditional sailmaker and shipwright who has worked on some of Australia's most well-loved heritage vessels including Duyfken and Polly Woodside.
WE SAY:
Rick has been building and restoring boats and sewing sails by hand for decades. He was awarded an International Specialised Skills Institute (ISSI) Fellowship to travel to New Zealand, the USA and the UK and research boatbuilder training. He is passionate about passing on knowledge and skills to future generations in the maritime industry.
