ABOUT ANDREA:
Andrea Streefkerk is a patternmaker and whose rare trade has taken her around the world. She runs her own label, 5th Cygnet which specialises in sustainable silk garments, upcycling and natural botanical dying. Andrea has over 15 years' experience as a fashion educator specializing in patternmaking, textiles, clothing production and sustainability.
WE SAY:
Andrea has a wealth of experience working with reputable organisations both locally and overseas including Paramount Studios in Hollywood. She also worked in the wardrobe department for the first production of Phantom of the Opera in Melbourne.
As a practitioner and an educator, Andrea is passionate about sustainability and slow fashion and passes this message onto her students
