Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades acknowledges the Wadawurrung people as the Traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. About this workshop
Learn the art of wet felting and make your own hat with textile artist, Jo Barr. In this full-day workshop, you will work with Australian fine merino wool to create your own felt. To practice the technique, you will manipulate your hand-made felt into a flower to make a simple brooch. Once you’ve honed your skills, you will shape your felt into a hat of your chosen style. You will have the option of cloche, concertina or small-brimmed hat. At the end of the day, you will have a one-of-a-kind hat to top off any outfit.

Snacks, lunch, water bottle, notepad and pen. Two towels.

Comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes.

All instruction, tools and materials provided

In this workshop, you'll learn to make your own felt and turn it into a hat.

A morning tea and lunch break are included with morning tea provided
