Painting the Sky: Hand-Built Kites
About this workshop
Learn to make a kite with Tim Denton.
For thousands of years, kites have allowed human beings to possess the sky. People throughout the world have used their imaginations to design these fragile but brilliant objects. Kites have given wings those who hold their strings. In this full-day workshop, you will create your own kite by bending cane into whatever shape and style you like, glueing bemsilk onto the frame and decorating using marker pens and spirit dye blended with methylated spirits.
Weather permitting, we will “Paint the Sky” by flying our kites.
