Embroidery - Stumpwork and Goldwork
About this workshop
Learn intermediate embroidery techniques with award-winning artist, Alison Cole.
In this two-day workshop, you will learn the techniques to create stumpwork and goldwork embroidery.Stumpwork, or raised embroidery, is a method using a variety of stitches and techniques to create a dimensional effect by padding and adding detached elements above the backing fabric surface.
Goldwork is the use of metal threads to provide beautiful embellishments to the work.
Through this workshop you will use these technique to create a panel depicting a little green bug, and at the end of the session you will take your piece home with you to finish.
