About this workshop
Learn the art of embroidery with award-winning artist, Alison Cole.
In this two-day workshop, you will be working on an embroidery design inspired by two pieces in the collection of the Australian Centre for Goldrush Collections.Alison will teach you Chinese style embroidery techniques. You will work with silk threads using satin stitch and encroaching satin stitch to create the flowers. Once the flowers are complete, you will make the outline using continuous line stitching in gold Japanese couching thread.
This project is perfect for those wanting to learn about the pieces in the Goldrush collection and how they were worked.

What do I need to bring?
Snacks, lunch, water bottle, notepad, pen and mechanical pencil.

Comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes.

All instruction, tools and materials included. The kit includes cotton sateen fabric, flat silk thread, Japanese couching thread, needles, instructions, 8” hoop, beeswax
